The Mural Project seeks to document the history and growth of Lake Wales as a source of public education and enjoyment. Several new murals have been completed in 2006, and more are currently under way. Represented here are a few of the various completed projects, and selected details of the huge paintings.

The area's lakes and forests provided a rich source of lumber and fish, and proved a magnet for pioneers. This mural is located inside The Highlander Bar and Grille, 253 East Stuart Avenue.

This magnificent mural of the early days of the new settlement depicts the dirt wagon trails along the new rail line, with the new industry of turpentine production in full swing. This mural is located along Scenic Highway, once the dirt trail depicted.

By the 1920's, Lake Wales had developed an impressive downtown district. This area now forms the heart of the National Historic District. This beautiful mural is located on Stuart Avenue, on the side of the former Scenic Theatre..
